rock your glow, like Lily

Reader Joanna writes in with a common summer pesk:
People look at her luminous skin and say mac brushes, “Eeew, you’re so pale.”
If you find yourself in the same situation, mac makeup there are two options:
You can either throw your iced tea on the person’s face, north face denali or figure out how to make your glow-in-the-dark skin tone work for summer.
Let’s look at our favorite phosphoresce girl, Lily Cole, for inspiration.
There’s no reason to self-tan or – eek – lay out blackhawks jerseys in the sun, but you could switch your brush to a bronzer, which catches light nicely and makes your cheeks glisten. We like the ones from the Body Shop because they’re cheap, organic, and the powder is very loose, so it applies easier.
You can also add a little bit of lip stain, because it goes from day-to-night and makes you look like you’re either eating berries or drinking wine. Either one is cute. Our favorite lip stain ever is from Tarte Cosmetics; it’s $21 but one of the only makeup items we carry in our pochette every day.
As for eyes, you have two options:
Wear brown mascara to lessen the contrast between your light skin and your darker eyes…
Or rock your glow, like Lily, and find an electric blue or purple eyeliner and shadow to make your skin pop.
Obviously, sunscreen is more important than all of this stuff, but a few good streaks of shimmer should curb any Interview with a Vampire references through August…
