MAC is teaming up with Ungaro‘s Esteban Cortazar for fall

It’s the second “from the runway” collaboration for the make-up giant,mac brushes after partnering with Alexander McQueen last year. (They don’t count Heatherette because their make-up wasn’t based on anything runway related.)

I justify the $24 price tag of Dior Show Black Out mascara because it’s the only beauty product I buy regularly.
I don’t even remember to put moisturizer on every morning which means I probably buy it once a year (I know, I know).north face denali But I can’t remember the last time I left the house, or even my room, without coats of Dior on my lashes. It is, unfortunately, an obsession.
So when Natalie told me that Maybelline’s newest mascara, The Colossal, allegedly rivaled my favorite Dior, while costing less than $8, I just laughed. I’ve tried dozens of mascaras and nothing comes close to giving me the volume,blackhawks jerseys length and mini-clumps, (no, I don’t like perfect separation) like Dior.
But I just tried the Maybelline – and it pains me to say this after six years of paying $24 every few months – but it works. It works like Dior.
I don’t know how many coats I used, because I usually just move the wand around until my eyelashes look sufficiently fake, but I didn’t swipe on anymore than I normally do.
The main difference is that The Colossal’s waterproof – and Dior Show Blackout isn’t. (Regular Dior Show comes in waterproof, but the Blackout version does not). Waterproof mascara scares me, but most people like it better which might make it an advantage.
I’m addicted to Dior’s mascara, but if my current tube runs out before I get a new one, my lashes will be reassured by the neon yellow tube tucked into my vanity.

Jil Sander’s launching a new fragrance for fall

Scent 79, for both men and women, will debut stateside exclusively at Neiman Marcus in November mac brushes, (it’s been available in Europe for almost a year).

We just got our August Vogue, and we were pleasantly surprised when we realized that Kate isn’t just on the cover – there’s actually an interview with her.

She’s not just working on a second fragrance for Coty (her first, Kate by Kate Moss will available in the States this August), she’s also working on makeup for them, a new celebrity-driven venture for the giant beauty brand.
Kate would be following in the model-makeup steps of Daria, who created a tiny range for Lancome earlier this year.
From Kate, we fully expect a sick range of kohl eyeliners, and no hair products whatsoever.
(On a sidenote, wouldn’t this compete with the makeup she sells for Rimmel, also owned by Coty? Guess she won’t be making mascara…)

MAC’s teaming up with Hello Kitty for a winter collection of make-up and random accessories including key chains,mac brushes bracelets and tote bags.
There will be two separate cosmetic collections, Hello Kitty Colour Collection and for the brand’s more mature customer, Hello Kitty Kouture because they need to reel in the kids who have an extra twenty bucks to spend on lipgloss as well as the moms who’ll spend $90 on something called Sheer Mystery Powder that comes in a white Swarovksi crystal Hello Kitty compact with a pink bow,mac makeup (assuming they exist).
Though fashion’s had an awkward relationship with Hello Kitty for some time, see Japanese Vogue May 2007, it always seemed more like a silly joke than an actual marketing ploy, like Star Von Bunny but recognizable to those outside the industry.

I snagged a pretty bottle of their new Kaleidoscope paint yesterday morning and I haven’t stopped staring at my nails since. It’s the partner shade to the gold everyone’s raving about, but so much better.

A Barbie World Of Mine

This afternoon, I died and went to pre-adolescent fashion heaven.

L’Oréal’s Double Extend Beauty Tubes mascara launched earlier this year

In the history of mascaras, first came the primer craze,mac brushes then there were fibers, followed by vibrating wands,mac makeup and now tubes take their turn as the latest lash craze.
The original tube mascara, Blinc, was a cult hit, lauded by beauty editors near and far. Naturally, L’Oréal and Stila have followed suit.
For the uninitiated, tube mascaras contain lengthening tubes that are created using heat-sensitive polymers that wrap around the lashes, forming a literal tube that adheres to individual lashes for both a water and smudge-proof finish. They also claim to wash off with just warm water and a little bit of pressure.
L’Oréal’s Double Extend Beauty Tubes mascara launched earlier this year,north face denali which comes with primer on one end to (supposedly) give you salon-extension worthy lashes. Meanwhile, Stila launched their Convertible Mascara last month, another double-ended deal, only this one has a regular-sized lengthening brush on one end and a smaller defining brush on the other.

Something About The Fake Tan

So what do you think, are you going to make the switch to sulfate-free,mac brushes or are you sticking to your usual shampoo no matter what the green experts say?
I started off with the Jonathan Product Green Rootine Shampoo. It has a foam consistency that kind of freaked me out. I had to keep checking the bottle to be sure it was indeed a shampoo and not a mousse mac makeup. I wasn’t a huge fan of it simply because I didn’t feel like I was getting enough on my strands,north face denali and hence, wound up using way too much of it. My hair looked clean but it still felt oily to me.
Next up was the L’Oréal EverPure Moisture Shampoo, which felt kind of heavy on my hair in the shower and sure enough, when I was finished blowdrying, my hair was hanging a little limper than usual. I definitely got some shine though and my hair did feel clean. If you’ve got really full hair, this might be more up your alley, but I don’t recommend for fine hair.
Finally came the Fekkai Au Naturel. It was love at first lather for me.
The shampoo went on light,blackhawks jerseys suds-ed up nicely and made my hair feel clean. The end result was super smooth, shiny hair that had lots of body and movement. The $23 price tag did cause me to pause, but this is one of the few lines I’ve found that completely satisfies my every hair care demand to a T, something I think is worth plunking down a little bit extra for.

Marc Jacobs is adding a new fragrance mac brushes to his growing perfume catalogue this fall, Lola.
The designer told WWD that while the super popular,mac makeup Daisy “is more sweet and innocent, Lola is more sensual – the name conjures up a flirtatious, warm spirit.”
We love the idea of a sassy counterpart to sweet Daisy. We were slightly hesitant about girly florals, but eventually grew to love the scent.
Lola will have a mix of pink peppercorn, ruby red grapefruit,north face denali vanilla and musk. Yum.
The bottle has a completely new vibe compared to any of his other fragrances too, and the shape is even different depending on what size you buy.

Would you try the Spermine Facial or is this just too gross for words?
So I was browsing through this week’s New York magazine on my way to work this morning mac brushes and read a short piece on how the latest craze in anti-aging treatments is a sperm-based facial. I’m sorry, what now?

We all like Julianne (some of us more than others),north face denali and we’ve always loved that she’s so fresh-faced – with her beautiful pale skin, freckles and red hair all complementing each other. The “glamorous” make-up used for the Vogue shoot is too heavy for my taste and, dare I say it, verging on Norma Desmond territory. To me, she looks way older than she is.

cursed with some downright nasty weather

If you live in New York, you know that we have been cursed with some downright nasty weather these past few weeks. It’s rainy and muggy and dark almost all day long.

And now, I think I’ve found my first new look for fall thanks to Diane Kruger at the Inglourious Basterds premiere earlier today in Berlin.

The eyes are subtly smoky, but not overly made-up. The matte red lip seems like a natural move from the coral days of summer.blackhawks jerseys And I am dying over the hair. It’s so simple but the visible bobby pins (while not a new concept) look really simple and fresh – perfect for my still-growing out bangs. Though I’m going to have to do something to mimic Diane’s gorgeous texture. (I’m considering the Brazilian keratin treatment just to smooth my hair in general. Let me know if any of you have tried it because I would love to hear first-hand if you liked it.)
